How Wai Shoes Works

At Wai Shoes, we do things a little differently. Instead of holding massive stock, we believe in offering you exclusive, carefully curated footwear — made just for you.

Every pair of shoes you order is produced especially for you. We work closely with trusted manufacturers to create high-quality, comfortable pieces made with love and care. Because each product is made to order, shipping takes a little longer than standard retail — but we promise it’s worth the wait.

We ship to New Zealand, Australia, and beyond, and you can choose between:

  • Free Standard Shipping: 15–25 days

  • Express Shipping: 10–15 days
    (Applies to both shoes and bags)

👉 Some styles are in stock in Christchurch-New Zealand and may arrive in just 2–3 days within New Zealand.
👉 Returns and exchanges are handled within New Zealand, so there’s no need to send anything overseas.

This model allows us to avoid overproduction and waste, while offering you a more intentional, sustainable shopping experience. It also means you get access to limited, stylish collections — not mass-produced items.

📦 Shipping Info – within New Zealand 

How long does delivery take?

  • Urban areas: 2–3 business days

  • Rural areas: 3–7 business days
    Please note that delivery times may vary slightly due to courier delays beyond our control.

Handling time
All orders are processed within 2–3 business days (Monday to Friday). Orders are not shipped or delivered on weekends or public holidays.

Shipping cost
We offer free shipping within New Zealand on all orders.

Signature required?
Yes. A signature is required upon delivery. If you’re not home, a calling card will be left and your parcel returned to the depot for redelivery.
If you’ve authorized the courier to leave the parcel unattended, Wai Shoes is not liable for any loss or damage. We recommend providing a secure delivery address.

🔄 Returns & Exchanges

Changed your mind or need a different size?
We get it! If you’re not 100% happy with your online purchase, we accept returns and exchanges within 14 days of receiving your order (even on sale items).
Returned items must be unworn, undamaged and tried on indoors on carpet only.

How to return
Visit our Request a Return page to get started. Please don’t send items back without following this process.

  • Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility.

  • Returns are sent back to our Christchurch (NZ) address – no international returns required.

Please note: Our leathers are natural. Small folds, marks, texture variations or lines are not defects — they are part of the unique character of each pair and will not be valid reasons for return.

⚠️ Faulty or incorrect item?

We’re so sorry! If your item is faulty or incorrect, please contact us at [email protected] as soon as possible.
If a repair is not possible, we’ll arrange an exchange, credit or full refund in line with the Consumer Guarantees Act.
If necessary, we’ll cover the return shipping or refund you the postage cost (with receipt).
